Meet Amy

Amy Henkels is a dedicated Reference Librarian with a wealth of experience spanning since 2009. Working at the Ela Area Public Library, Amy not only assists patrons with their research needs but also expertly teaches and coordinates the library's computer and technology classes, making essential digital skills accessible to the community.

As someone late-diagnosed with AuDHD (Autism and ADHD), Amy brings a unique and invaluable perspective to the topic of neurodiversity. This personal understanding fueled the creation of a highly successful neurodiverse meetup group at the library. This group provides a vital safe space for neurodivergent adults to connect, develop social skills, and foster new friendships, embodying the inclusive spirit of libraries.
